FRIDAY

Regenerative Loop Tour

FARMERS MARKET - FRI at 4:00P
Where are we now in the long path of human evolution? What have we inherited from our ancestors? What will we leave to the children and all generations into the future of life on Earth? This panel will touch on these questions and begin to unpack the numerous regenerative solutions that are now available for reinhabiting the Earth with choices that reflect our whole systems understandings and our deep love for the opportunity to be alive at this incredible time on Earth.

Julie Martinson is a refugee from 30 years as a practicing general dentist who is actively working on reinventing and healing herself as well as looking for solutions. She was introduced to permaculture years ago and has embraced this complex milieu of systems thinking, whole systems design, and regenerative lifestyle and never looked back. Julie is a full time permaculturist! Permaculturists value “dirt time” and Julie has been immersed since 2012 as a co-creator at Soul Springs Permaculture Farm where she works with her sons and others to birth a demonstration site on these 30- acres in north Emmet county. She is also passionate about social permaculture for implementing deep social change. Julie sees the interconnections and patterns nature provides as frameworks for problem-solving in natural, social, and personal systems.

It seems like our country and much of the rest of the world are collectively holding our breath as we wade through the daily news and anticipate what is to come. In this workshop, we will come to understand the difference between compression and contraction. We will learn some tools for taking care of our hearts without falling into apathy. We will emerge better equipped and inspired to take part in the healing of our world. This is an experiential workshop.

What is "Plork"?: Enter the Permaculture Portal

NIFTY LOUNGE - SAT at 2:00P
This workshop will focus on providing a broad context for permaculture. Beginning with abundance thinking, this a deep, rich topic that fractals out infinitely providing solutions and design tools. By introducing the ethics and principles of permaculture, we can launch interactively into some of the many applications to illustrate how one can design a life, a social system, a garden, a food forest or a landscape with this new way of seeing. Plork: the marriage of play and work! You can be playfully passionate and never “work” another day in your life. Get ready to be inoculated!

Industrial Hemp: A Regenerative Solution for Faster Transition to Organics

NIFTY LOUNGE - SAT at 4:00P
Many conventional farmers are noticing that the market for organics is booming while the markets for conventional crops continue to fluctuate in volatile ways. The switch to organic agriculture is in full swing, but it can take three years. The good news is that there is a faster way to transition the land while cleaning toxins from the soil. In fact we can use Industrial hemp for: Soil Remediation, Health, Medicine, Energy Systems, Building Material, Feed Stock for 3D Printers, Plastics, and many, many more.... Mark will talk about the current state of hemp production, legal framework, history and near future developments.

SUNDAY

Harvest of Gratitude

NIFTY LOUNGE - SUN at 10:00A
Why have gratitude when so much seems to be falling apart for so many people? Gratitude helps to steady us in times of turmoil or danger. It brings us into presence, and our full presence is perhaps the best offering we can make to our world. In this workshop, we will look closely at gratitude as a powerful and simple choice that can make all the difference in how we see ourselves, each other, and the world we share. This is an experiential workshop.
